Testimonial
"I highly recommend this insulation! This past winter, living in our home was a pleasure. No more cold floors, extra sweaters, and we actually heard the furnace shut off. Our heating bills for comparable temperatures in comparable months are equal to what we paid 7-8 years ago and 1/2 of last years bills."

Kansas Energy Efficiency Programs
How the Programs Help Kansas Residents
Efficiency Kansas Loan Program
The Efficiency Kansas loan program facilitates cost-effective energy-efficiency improvements in existing Kansas homes and small businesses. Improvements are based on the findings of a comprehensive energy audit, performed by Efficiency Kansas qualified auditors. As a public-private partnership, Efficiency Kansas relies on the expertise of local businesses and entrepreneurs to deliver the program throughout Kansas. The following auxiliary programs and initiatives support and promote Efficiency Kansas.

Energy-Efficiency Improvements to Existing Homes
For 2009, Congress has reintroduced tax credits for energy-efficiency improvements to existing homes (they were previously offered during 2006 and 2007). These federal income tax credits are available for home improvements completed from January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2010, including insulation, energy-efficient windows and doors, energy-efficient biomass fueled stoves (not included in previous versions), and more. Homeowners can claim up to $1,500 in combined tax credits, including any tax credits that may have been claimed in 2006 and 2007. Previously, the tax credit was capped at $500, but it was increased $1,500 under a provision of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program, funded through the U.S. Department of Energy and the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program, provides housing improvements that increase energy efficiency in income-eligible, single- or multi-family dwellings, including manufactured homes.
Households with income up to 200% of the federal poverty level or 75% of the state median income, whichever is higher. If anyone in the household has received TANF or SSI in the last twelve months, the household automatically qualifies. The target groups for this program are households including persons who are elderly, persons with disabilities and families with children.
Public or private not-for profit agencies apply for the grants and provide the services. Due to the high technical investment and expertise required to operate the grants, grantees are generally continued from year to year.
